Palais-Royal - Vendôme
The 1st arrondissement is one of Paris’ most central, and offers a large number of tourist and cultural attractions. Place Vendôme, one of the most famous and luxurious squares in the world, is today renowned for its large number of jewelers. Frédéric Boucheron was the first to set up business there, and was followed by numerous other jewelers, watchmakers and craftsmen, including Cartier, Chaumet and Rolex. The luxurious Ritz Paris hotel overlooks the square, and was recently fully renovated to earn the official title of “palace”. The Palais-Royal comprises the palace itself, its gardens, its galleries and its theaters. All are delimited by rue Saint-Honoré and place Colette, rue de Richelieu, rue de Montpensier, rue de Beaujolais and rue de Valois. Rue Saint-Honoré is situated near the Tuileries Garden and the Saint-Honoré market. It’s an excellent address for not only shopping but also luxury hotels like the Costes and the Mandarin Oriental. You’ll also find the very popular luxury concept store Colette. It’s an area that attracts people from the worlds of fashion, perfumery and design, music and publishing, photography, beauty and high technology.
